Stroll through the town and walk through time, in the footsteps of the Romans, Saxons, Normans, Georgians and Victorians. Another splendid evening at Timbrells, great food creedy duck leg and pork belly in particular! The starters and dessert were good, but the Sunday roast main was average at best. Over cooked meat, both chicken and beef, soggy warmed up roast potatoes, sad looking veggies and incredibly oily gravy. The cauliflower cheese was better though. Overall, nowhere near worth the money. Service was good. We had a lovely evening meal here and one thing I particularly appreciated was the inclusion of seasonal game and vegetables on the menu.
The portions were generous and the service was very attentive.

Dating Technique Currently accepted art-historical methods used for dating pre-Norman churches are the use of primary and secondary dating techniques. Historical evidence is considered most valuable if it is contemporary or close to contemporary. It must also contain an adequate enough description of the structure to ensure that the building in the document and the building being examined are the same.
There are obvious limits to this type of evidence. Archaeologycan help to provide information in cases where the documentary evidence is not in itself sufficient proof to establish a link between the documentary source and the site in question. Archaeology can often provide a date between two defined limits. The archaeological method is often used on ruined churches which do not provide information that is useful for secondary dating such as positions of altars or the types of windows.

Date Question Asked: Monday 4th July Please can you provide me with the history of Woolley Terrace in Bradford on Avon – I’m interested in the weavers’ cottages and when they were built.
Her maiden name was Windo which she believed dated from them. Is there any way of tracing the weavers names that came over here? It is either in the Woolley or Holt area. Can you help? We are taking the riots over the scribbling horse in Westbury Gardens as our focus for finding and using historical evidence. Could you point me in any particular direction? Can you tell me where exactly these works were situated and any other details? It is next to the bridge over the canal in the Widbrook area.
I’m curious about when and why it was built, how long it has been a pub, what else it may have been, etc.
